HR Hotline Associates’ mission is to increase the value of people capital, the most critical intangible asset of your organization. Our mission directs us to take a thoughtful, holistic and strategic approach so it may be successfully realized; something we do diligently with expertise and commitment to our clients.
HR Hotline Associates is led by Julie Caspar
Julie Caspar, founder and President of HR Hotline Associates, has over 25 years’ experience specializing in multiple areas that make up the Human Resources function. Julie began her consulting practice in 2001 and since then has grown her practice to include a variety of long-term clients with whom she has successfully assisted in increasing quality of performance results through a number of different HR based programs and solutions.
Prior to owning HR Hotline, Julie held professional to executive positions in different industries on the East Coast and in the Midwest. She has held roles with international and domestic scope in union and non-union environments. Julie attended graduate school at Loyola and Drake Universities, earning a Master’s degree in Learning and Organizational Performance from the latter.
Julie served as adjunct faculty in the Leadership Development graduate program at Drake University for ten and a half years. She has been on the board for Central Iowa SHRM serving as VP Membership and currently volunteers on an HR advisory board for a well-known non-profit organization. She has facilitated and presented at numerous workshops, conferences and webinars; has been published in the Des Moines Register and HR publications; consulted on and was featured in, Let’s T.A.L.K.: Handling the Difficult Performance Appraisal video; was a frequent guest on the Today’s Learning Workplace podcast; and authored & self-published, The Manager’s Candidate Search Toolbox; A Guide to Increasing Your Hiring Success Ratio (2011). Julie’s new book, The Seven Steps to Increasing Your Hiring Success Ratio, is now available for purchase on Amazon.
Ana Rodriguez is owner and founder of Diversity Consulting and has joined forces with HR Hotline Associates as a key contributor. Ana brings over 15 years’ experience in many facets of Human Resources including but not limited to Compensation, Organizational / Employee Development, Staffing Management, Employee Relations and Recognition Event Planning. Ana is a native from Mexico and has experience working for multinational and local companies such as DuPont-Pioneer, Lucent Technologies, Flextronics and Celestica. Ana holds a Masters of Business Administration from Drake University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources & Business Administration at Panamericana University and earned a Specialty in Human Capital Direction from the same university.
Lisa Grefe has joined the group of HR Hotline Associates contributors, bringing over 15 years of leadership and management experience in the non-profit and education sectors. As a strengths-based coach, facilitator, and HR consultant, Lisa inspires excellence.
She is an expert in building and training high performing teams as well as understanding and communicating how to bring out the best in people by using a positive mindfulness-based approach. Lisa excels at helping individuals and teams navigate through, while responding affirmatively to, all types of change in their organizations.
Lisa holds a Masters in Psychology from Springfield College and is currently finishing her 2nd Masters in Leadership Development with a concentration in Human Resources from Drake University.
Rebecca brings over 17 years of experience in Human Resources along with an MBA from the University of Iowa. As an HR practitioner for a Fortune 500 company she held roles as a Generalist, Recruiter, Division Manager and Project Manager. She is also an experienced HR Consultant working with organizations to understand their business objectives, providing personalized services and tailored solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
Rebecca currently serves on the board for Central Iowa SHRM serving as VP of Competency Development, is passionate about employee engagement, development, process improvement and compensation and is excited to be a part of the growing HR Hotline Associates’ team.
HR Hotline Associates has successfully partnered with Lee S. Johnsen, CPT, CPLP, SPHR and his company, Partner’s in Development, on a number of projects with various clients. Lee has been a valued associate for many years.
Lee is a respected leader, author and international facilitator in the fields of virtual team management, leadership development and performance improvement. With a hybrid background in both business and counseling, Lee brings his unique expertise to coaching and consulting with executives and leaders. He is an expert at helping global teams and their leaders navigate the challenges and opportunities of working in a virtual world. He has spoken internationally on this and other topics plus has spent time developing young leaders in Saudi Arabia.
Lee’s career includes officer and management positions in Fortune 500 corporations as well as government agencies. He has the international distinction of being one of only a few individuals holding three HR related designations and is a published author of several articles. Lee also co-authored the book Real World Teambuilding Strategies That Work (Insight Publishing).

Before leaving Corporate America, Don served as the Vice President of Operations for a multi-national brand, as well as roles in Sales Management, Product Management & Quality Management. In addition, Don has been fortunate to present at several conferences and keynote on topics such as: Big Data & Automation, Warranty as a Marketing Tool and Overcoming Challenges in a Social World.
Don is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, a graduate of Southern Illinois University and holds a Lean Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University. He is the author of the forthcoming book (January 2017), Increasing Your Reach: 10 Real Ways to Effectively Market Your Business for Growth
